Job Description
Seeking a Corrections Qualified Mental Health Professional that will function as a member of a multi-disciplinary treatment team providing a range of professional treatment services to mentally ill and/or mentally disabled patients within the Michigan Department of Corrections. This position is the lead worker advanced level and provides oversight of the work of lower level clinicians, providing a distribution of work, reviewing work, provides guidance and assistance. The Qualified Mental Health Professional works with hospitalized, medically ill and other special populations. They are responsible for all aspects of the mental health evaluation, referral to the appropriate mental health level of care and treatment of the prisoners, monitoring their progress and ensuring continuity of care is not jeopardized. The QMHP will provide a full range of psychosocial assessments and evaluations, interventions, consultations and referral services as assigned by the supervisor. They assist with placement and obtaining services when the patient discharges to the community.
Education:
Must have a Master's Degree with a major in Psychology, Social work, or Counseling.
Licensing:
Must have a Michigan to practice as a psychologist, social worker, counselor, registered nurse or other QMHP.
